Traxler King March

Unfortunately, I am the marcher .........

As you know I love to play the traxler and from time to time will post them on my blogg. I am still learning the earlier moves and what are best responses.

I thought this was one of my better played traxler against a 1750 rated opponent on playchess. I am playing black. Strong counterplay but I couldn't find a mating net. I am checking with Prof Fritz to see if i missed something and will report back in comments. {I just looked at it while it is processing there are a few 10 move mating nets that I missed)

Those Traxler games always get wild. I bet it helps with tactics in other openings though.

I love looking at these traxler games. Don't know if I'll ever have the guts to play it. What are the time controls on these games? Are they long? What do you think your win percentage with the opening is?

The time controls I normally play are 20 +10 seconds. It doesn't take much guts to play just a willingness to risk crashing and burning. I am still learning the finer nuances and move order is especially important. The mistake I made in this was move 10 should of been Q-h6. Other black moves that are often played are pawn to D5 to block the bishop and the bringing of the 2nd knight into the action to whites 4th rank to enter into the mating net . Winning % is about 50% which I see going up upon further study of the game. The games in chessbase have a winning % for black of about 80% if white takes the pawn with the N a little less if the pawn with the bishop. I'll connect up with you by email and lets play a few of them to practice.
