Binging

Like a proverbial drunken sailor, I have been spending my rating points in games against 1700-1900 rated players. Back to 1662 where I played this interesting Marshall or pseudo Marshall against a 1782 rated player. The endgame came through for me again.

Marshall attack rocks. I wish you didn't have to wait like 9 moves to see if white was gonna let you play it. I've been so happy with the Scandy as far as that goes.

What level do you plan to work through in Ct-Art for your circles?

The whole damn thing....... As the prophet Mdlm teaches complete Ct-art is the only true path to tactical enlightenment. 8) if I am improving at L30 imagine what I will be like at l80! Then again I may be senile at that point.

and yes the Marshall attack does rock.

An interesting thing happen to me at chess club Friday. I played a guy who I only beat on rare occasion with my gambit openings. I played the Ruy as white on a whim and gave him the best game that I had given him in a long time.(Note I still lost)

Here is an interesting possibility we might have to ask likesforests about. 36. d7 Rd2 37. Ne6 and now black has to give up his rook for the d-pawn. The question is whether or not the passed pawns on both wings are too much for the knight to handle. It looks like a difficult position, both sides might still be playing for a win there!

    Loomis,
Hmmm, your comments are always insightful and require further thought. Also on the exchange sac comment on the other post. I did consider that but was unclear if I should so i did not . I have to take a closer look at my fritz reports on these games and add info over the weekend.

loomis Fritz liked your suggestion of d seven

Sweet. Although the resulting endgame is still rather complicated. Fritz probably gives +2 already for the material advantage and any far pawn advances are beyond horizon.
